Winnie by WORKS
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
WORKS ("we", "us") makes Winnie, an AI receptionist that answers phone calls for HVAC, plumbing and other home-service businesses. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
Who this covers
- Our customers: the businesses that use Winnie, and people who book a demo or contact us through callwinnie.com.
- Callers: people who phone a business that uses Winnie. For these calls we work on behalf of that business, and the business decides how your information is used. Questions about a specific business's records are best sent to that business; we will help them answer.
- Website visitors: anyone browsing callwinnie.com.
What we collect
- Contact and account details you give us: name, company, email, phone number, and billing details when you sign up.
- Call information when Winnie answers for a business: the caller's phone number, what is said on the call (audio recordings and transcripts), and the details Winnie collects to book a job, such as name, address and the problem to fix.
- Scheduling details passed to the business's booking tools (for example its CRM or field-service software) so jobs land on the right calendar.
- Basic website data such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location, collected by our hosting provider to keep the site running.
How we use it
- To answer calls, book jobs and send call summaries to the business Winnie works for.
- To set up, test and improve each customer's Winnie, including reviewing calls with that customer.
- To run demos, reply to messages, bill customers and provide support.
- To keep the service secure and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- The business you called. Call recordings, transcripts and booking details go to the business Winnie answered for.
- Service providers that help us run Winnie, such as phone carriers, speech and AI processing, hosting, scheduling and payment providers. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
- A business transfer: if WORKS is sold or merged, this information may move to the new owner under this same policy.
Call recording
Calls answered by Winnie may be recorded and transcribed so the business can review them. Winnie can tell callers this at the start of each call. Each business using Winnie is responsible for any call-recording notices its state requires.
How long we keep it
We keep call recordings, transcripts and account information for as long as the business uses Winnie, or as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. A business can ask us to delete its recordings and data at any time.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected customers if a breach occurs.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing michael@callwinnie.com. If your request is about a call to a business that uses Winnie, we may pass it to that business, since it controls those records.
Children
Winnie is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above. Significant changes will be emailed to customers.
